EuroEcho – Imaging 2013


Tremendous success for CCI

The worlds largest imaging congress, EuroEcho – Imaging was held from Dec. 11th to 14th, 2013, Istanbul, Turkey. The congress had its 10 years anniversary and experienced a new record of 3400 participants. It was organized by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).

The meeting was a tremendous success for CCI and was represented with many participants from OUS.

Drs. Ida S Leren, MD, Nina E Hasselberg, MD, and Jørg Saberniak, MD won awards for best abstract in their respective classes. CCI had all together 7 abstract presentations. Dr. Nina E Hasselberg had 1 oral abstract presentation, 1 presented as moderated poster and her abstracts were presented at the congress highlight session. The other abstracts from CCI were presented as posters.

Participants from CCI had 6 invited presentations, Dr. Sebastian I Sarvari, Dr. Kristina H Haugaa and Prof. Thor Edvardsen. CCI also had numerous positions as chairmen and acting as experts in different sessions. Prof Thor Edvardsen is chair of the EACVI Scientific Committee and awarded 4 European winners of EACVI grants.

The weather in Istanbul was not the best, with unexpected snow.

The conference was crowded with more than 3400 attendees.
